Hi,

i'm planning to buy this products for my new network:

2x EAP610

2x TL-SG2218

1x ER605V2

I'll use 3 VLANs.

I would an advice on how to link devices.

It is better:

TL-SG2218 -> TL-SG2218 -> ER605V2

or:

TL-SG2218 -> ER605V2  +  TL-SG2218 -> ER605V2

More, EAPs it is better linked to router or to switches?

thanks

I prefer TL-SG2218 -> ER605V2  +  TL-SG2218 -> ER605V2, the first topo may be more difficult to troubleshoot once your network has an issue.

AP connects to the switch to apply for the power.

The reason i have doubt about "most used" link  TL-SG2218 ->TL-SG2218 -> ER605V2 -> ISP is due to fact che intervlan routing is done on gateway. So, if i have huge data transfer between two vlans, this traffic will affect wan traffic too, because the link is for wan access and intervlan rouing is the same. I'm i wrong?

This ist the classic scenaroiuos of router on a swtch.

Why do you have 2 switches?

I would do ER605 (which will operate the DHCP Server) and then the switch and then the EAPs.

If you need a second switch for whatever reason, I would judge if connect the other switch to the Gateway or first switch depending on other needs and majority of the driven traffic.

  @nicolati

The simple reason i need 2 switches is that 1x24 ports is not enogh, so i opted for 2x16 ports. And use 1x48 is too much expansive.

In a router on a stick configuration, if i cannot routing intervlan inside switches, will be the router itself to do routing intervlan, and the same datalink for wan will be used for intervlan traffic too.

The ideal would be intervlan routing would be done by switches, without take into account gwateway/router, but with omada i cannot do it because switches ACL are not stateful.

only gw acl is stateful. First time for me to learn about the switch stateful. Is this true the switch can be stateful?

Inter vlan is not possible to be routed on the switch if you create vlan on the router.

The very old way to use the network like what you described should be referring to faq 887 which answers your questions.

ScReW yOu gUyS. I aM GOinG hoMe. —————————————————————— For heaven's sake, can you write and describe your issue based on plain fact, common logic and a methodologic approach? Appreciate it.

Hi, thanks for the answer.

I thinked on L3 switches it would be possible stateful ACL.

Thanks for input for faq 887, that's was what i refer to.
