Keep Built-In RADIUS Server in 5.15

I like to request to keep the Built-In RADIUS Server in Controller 5.15 and if necessary for optimizing the boot time, to make it optional.

I would agree with this. Functionality should be prioritised over boot time.

Hi @Philldu
Our engineers are planing to redesign the feature and refresh the whole code about it. It won't be available very soon.

Does the decision to remove built-in Radius also affect the "PPSK without Radius" setting?
I'm unclear whether PPSK without Radius means "PPSK without an external Radius server", but still uses an internal mechanism handled by the built-in Radius? If so then PPSK without Radius might also go if Built-in Radius is removed in 5.15.
Whereas if PPSK without Radius uses a different engine in Omada then it won't be affected if Built-In Radius is removed.
Can you clarify please?

Hi @UKJim
It also influences PPSK without RADIUS.

Oh dear, that's one way to prevent customers from upgrading! I hope the improved version will be available in a timely manner and won't remove PPSK functionality.
I will add that I'm confident TP-LINK will come up with a great solution!
This is a very useful and responsive community, and I understand the pressures of development having been in the industry for all my life. Send my compliments to the Omada teams for creating a great product.

i hope they will keep this cuz prevent users to upgrade is not a good strategy
@Fae what happen if vulnerability is released on 5.14 if we cannot upgrade ?

Who cares about boot time?
The only time I reboot my router is when there is a upgrade.
Please keep the radius as I do use the vpn function.
