Model: OC300   EAP670   ER707-M2
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I recently switched my office/home network to Omada, and everything works fine, except one important thing: almost all clients connected via WiFi via the access points are seen as wired by controller.

Here's my setup:

Internet -> Omada ER707-M2 router -> Omada SG2428P switch -> 3x EAP670 v2 access points.

+ a OC300 controller connected on the Omada SG2428P switch.

Two of the three access points are going first into an unmanaged switch (one from TP-Link, one from Netgear) where I have several wired devices in addition to the EAP, so I thought that could be the problem. But one is directly connected to the Omada SG2428P switch (with POE), and have the same behaviour as the others, so that doesn't seem to be the problem.

On the screenshot, you can see the Client Group has 84 clients, but actually 70+ of them are wireless and are going through the EAP's.

Also, as you can see on the screenshot, strangely enough, a few wireless devices are detected as wireless for each EAP.

Can someone please help me figure this out?

Thank you!

@Vincent-TP Rebooting the controller fixed it. That's strange, I was sure I already tried to reboot it without any luck, but now everything seems to work as expected. Thank you!

... also, as a result, I can't even use the feature "lock to AP" because "only wireless clients support lock to AP".

Hi  @StephaneDupont

What's the firmware version of your OC300? Please first update the OC300 and the EAP670 to the latest firmware.

If you disconnect a phone, and reconnect it to the wifi, will it show up on the wired client list or wireless page?

What kind of wireless clients are connecting to this network?

@Vincent-TP Every device has the latest firmware (1.25.3 Build 20240620 Rel.80854 for the OC300). If I disconnect and reconnect my phone it still appears are wired. I'm connecting all kind of wireless devices: phones, IOT, ...

Hi  @StephaneDupont

That's weird. Did you try reboot the controller or the EAP units? Still the same thing?

If you don't mind, please try Force Provision(Config>Manage Device) one EAP and test again, but this will make the EAP lose Internet for a while.
