I have 3 Omada EAP225 & 1 Omada 670 connected via software controller.

Laptops are connected to farthest access points while near by access points are available.

both 2.5 & 5Ghhz are enabled

Here's an article that explains the issue: Why my clients don't roam or connect to the nearest AP

So, could you please check if you have enabled fast roaming? If it is enabled, try referring to this article to figure out why.If fast roaming is not enabled, you might try to enable it so that the client can roam to the nearest AP.
