Wireguard IPv6 support
Hi,
I would like to request the addition of IPv6 support for WireGuard.
IPv6 adoption has increased significantly, doubling from 2020 to 2024, and now reaches approximately 75% in countries like Germany and France [1].
Notably, most fiber and cable connections in Germany are now behind Carrier-Grade NAT (CG-NAT), making it impossible to establish a VPN connection without IPv6 support.
To overcome this limitation, I have had to deploy a consumer-grade router (AVM Fritz!Box) in front of my professional Omada setup to facilitate VPN connectivity—an approach that undermines the efficiency and intent of a professional networking environment.
Implementing IPv6 support in WireGuard would greatly enhance its usability in regions with extensive CG-NAT implementation, streamlining secure connections for many users.

2026. It is a must have feature. I'm using Wireguard on a separate Ubuntu box due to tp-link limitations.

@Vincent-TP Is this being considered as this is supported by one of your competitors as of 3 days ago, I know that tp-link does not have it yet, I am just wondering if this will be considered, and if is currently being considered, when may it be implemented? As more and more networks are moving to IPV6 this is a very nice to have given the modern networks and more specifically this has been a feature of wire guard for a long time now. Currently I have to use a raspberry pi to port forward and create an ACL for gateway to allow this for my PI, I would prefer to support this on my er8411 but it seems like since the ipv6 implementation is not there I use it as a backup and use the PI as my primary. I want to be able to do this without need to buy another computer to do this, this should be natively be supported on the router itself.
