Factory reset button failed to correctly reset TL-WA7210N

Region : UnitedStates

Model : TL-WA7210N

Hardware Version : V2

Firmware Version : 2.1

ISP :

The unit has not been used in about six months but powered up fine and gave me a login prompt.

At the prompt I realized I had forgotten my password.

I did a factory reset using the reset button. After the reset I am no longer able to connect to the 192.168.1.254. If fails to connect. I tried both a DHCP configuration on my computer and a static ip of 192.168.1.10 with no gateway, a gateway of 192.168.1.1 and a gateway of 192.168.1.254. In all four attempts I was not able to ping the 192.168.1.254 nor was I able to get a login prompt on my browser when pointed at 192.168.1.254

I tried a second reset and power cycled both my PC and the TP-Link.

I am thinking the unit failed the reset somewhere in midsteam.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Tried with no luck. I have run ipconfig and pc is not being assigned an IP by the TP-Link. Also cannot ping TP-Link under any of the configurations I tried (see original post)

Cable worked fine and gave me a prompt but forgot password so reset, then it fails

When I powers up all of the lights are on solid, LAN light flashes and PC nic shows connected.

Since I used the cable successfully and received a login prompt then did factory reset and get nothing

@tdshaff

After reset, you need to manually assign your PC a static IP address, 192.168.0.100 for example. It won't get IP address automatically because there is no DHCP service on TL-WA7210 by default.

Then connect your PC to the TL-WA7210N via a cable, log into TL-WA7210N which is 192.168.0.254
