Hardware Version : Not Clear

Firmware Version :

ISP :

I added a TP Link TL-ANT2424B (Parabolic 24dbi 2.4Ghz Antenna) to a TP Link TL-WA801ND (Access Point) and have not noticed an increase in reception distance. I used a 1 meter cable (N to RP SMA) to connect the antenna to the access point. What could I be missing? It seems easy enough to extend the range of the access point.

Thanks in advance,

Vinster

You added the wrong size to 801
9 dBi antenna is the max 801 supports, now if you want to see the dif you will need to buy a 7210 device and put away the 801
But that would not be my advise, better sale 801 & 2424 and Pigtail and buy a CPE210, that will fulfill your needs, and it's outdoor/indoor device

Refer to: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-908.html.
Besides, 24dBi is too high, it's usually used on outdoor access points other than indoor access points such as TL-WA801ND
