How to use the Alarm Server feature in the NVR?

Hello,
I was reading the user's manual of my NVR1004H-4P on p.122, section 6.23 called "Alarm Server". The information is very basic, and I wonder how other users do... I created a simple script that I hosted on a web server for testing purpose. I added the IP address of the web server in the NVR settings under "Settings > Event > Alarm server".
Why is "IP/Domain" asked if "URL" already includes it? (I'm puzzled). Also, what is the GET or POST request supposed to send to the alarm server? Last, but not least, after adding an alarm server, I headed over to "Settings > Event > Smart event > Vehicle detection > Processing mode", but the alarm server isn't in the list of possible actions. How to trigger the web hook upon event detection?
Thank you!

Alarm server is a server that you use to receive the notification. Similar to the router, a syslog server.
We do not help you build the server, but offer access to forward the events/logs to the server.
How to use it, in simple terms, is what you see in the User Guide. Building a server is under our support. For the NVR end, you put the server information to it and it will connect and forward the information.

@Clive_A Thank you. OK, fair enough. Do you know at least some names of companies that provide alarm server services so that I can benefit from this feature ?
