Currently I am using a TP-Link ER605 VPN Router with no controller yet.

I am planning on using a software controller and have questions on some things.

I do have daily backups on a USB flash drive.

Is it possible to restore or import one of the backup files in to software controller so I do not have to loose all the settings I have done on the TP-Link ER605 VPN Router?

Down the road I will switch to the cloud based controller but at this point have use I got and free.
