Hello all,

so i have bought four EAP 220 and wanted to setup the AP's in cluster mode.
But I noticed that the firmware: 2.0.2 Build 20160401 Rel. 65964 does not support it, what should i do now?
I wanted to have all clients link to the best AP on their own.
Is it possible to configure the four EAP 220 with the EAP controller and turn off the eap controller afterwards? (offline)

Kind regards,

BlackRose

Cluster mode only supported by older firmware, see below:
http://www.tp-link.com.au/faq-772.html
I'm not sure if you can safely downgrade, perhaps a technician can confirm this?

About turning off the controller:
- you can't login to the web admin remotely if the server is off or no one logged in, a user must stay logged in (and the software opened) for it to work
- if you use hotspot authentication, read this: http://www.tp-link.com.au/faq-1041.html

Hi, thy for the information

I noticed that i can not login to the EAP AP if the controller is offline but if everything is configured there is no need to do this? I would think so?

I do not need the hotspot authentication but thx for the informaion.

I just need the handshake between the EAP AP's and the clustering of the EAP configuration.

Maybe a tech can help with the Firmware or has a good way to configure the EAP AP's like you said.

Kind regads,

BlackRose

I'm still trialing this thing out myself.
I believe once you set things up via the controller, the access points will remember them.
I have yet to test its roaming capabilities but haven't got the time.
Do let me know how your testing goes.

I meant shutdown the first node during the second node initial connection and configuration. If I do not add second node to Cluster Admin, will both first and second node see the disk? I guess that may potential lead to problem? ___ NEW XRumer 12.0.19 + SocPlugin: revolutional method in SEO and SMM

Providing you setup the disk security stuff on the md300i, yes it should see the desk.Dunno why you would want to shut down, kinda negates the point of having a cluster.
