Hello,

I have turned on no-auth captive portal for a wireless LAN and noticed that the the AP does not intercept and redirect HTTPS URLs.

That is, if a new client connects and tries to visit https://www.google.com they get a blank page instead of the portal page.

HTTP links seem to work fine.

Is this a known issue and is there a workaround?

If HTTPS requests would be intercepted, the browser would throw an error to warn the user about a possible man-in-the-middle attack and would refuse to connect. HTTPS was designed to ensure that no one can silently tamper with requests in this way. Therefore, only plain HTTP requests can be intercepted.
