I have 100mb fibre connection,

running a point to point network using tp-link cpe510 5ghz outdoor access points, one in AP mode and one in client mode.

they advertise 300 Mbps wireless N, but as wifi is half duplex i would expect 150 Mbps.

I noticed the lan port on the AP is 10/100. so maybe with 5% loss i might be able to get 95Mbps,

Using the built in speedtest tool using one unit as server and one unit as client

I am maxing out, unidirectional at 61Mbps tx

and bidirectional 29.2Mbps tx and 40.3 Mbps rx = total 65.5Mbps,

so can i get better speeds or do i need to upgrade to more expensive gear? maybe from ubiquiti networks?

i consider myself techy but maybe I need to get a specialist out to look at it?

I want to achieve 95 Mbps downlink speed from the system that is implemented.

thoughts?

Hello, there are many factors to consider. One of them and the main thing is that they are a sight line, you have sight between them. Another important factor is the possible noise / interference near both devices, for such a close distance perhaps a lower power would be advisable and not 23dBm highs. Last but not least, correct alignment. Try a test velicidad to internet and certainly improve your results (speedtest.com)

@jarobaina read post #1 again, @sdavisnz is Techy enough on the subject
You are advising in LOS and you opened a Thread on subnet issue, wierd.

from pratices, the speedtest tools show less speed than the actual throughput, try to test the internet speed through this link

being optimistic is the most you get from data rate, especially in this device (CPE210) is limited to the speed of LAN port ...

It is an error of TL, create a device that announces a 300Mbps Fast Ethernet LAN (100Mbps) port, this should have been done a Gigaport (1Gbps) to reach speeds promised ... and yet not consegura transfer data at 300Mbps, only reached half (150Mbps) remain optimistic ...

should consider using professional equipment range to reach the data rate you are looking ...

could find solution using a Ubiquiti product with Giga ethernet ports, which are easy to configure, or use @danymarc said Cambium, which are insensitive to noise, but need special settings ...

and exposing @YCXY, to really know the capacity of a link, you must not do it with a speed test online, it is done with dedicated software that, installed on two computers on the network, one side of the AP and client other side with a shared folder between the two, and transferring heavy media file ... this will show actual link performance rel ...
