Hello,
I had a problem with updating to 2.0.3
I was using the old 2.0.2 version..
And decided to install latest 2.0.3 version over Eap Controller.
WHat i notice is, when i updated the device, the wifi connection has been lost.
I can reach the device, it seems in control with EAP Controller
But i got no wifi signal from it.
I rebooted..but no solution
Then i “forgot” the device from eap controller and re-adopt..
And it got the configuration back again.
Seems like a serious bug..
I had to re-adopt 10 devices again and again..
I am lucky i dont have much more devices..

What version of the EAP controller software are you using? This is just a shot in the dark, but if you're using an older version (current is 2.4.7 -- you can check via Setting > System > About > Version) it may be that the new firmware needs to be told it's connecting to an older version of the controller or else they can't communicate properly.

So, firmware of the EAP should probably be updated before updating the EAC in order to retain all settings, right? Didi you update your EAC successfully this way?

TBH I'm just making educated guesses. I only got my EAP-245s about a month ago, I updated their firmware when I was still running EAP Controller locally (it was just a slightly newer build, maybe 3-6 months newer than what they shipped with), and the EAP software I downloaded was already the latest (2.4.7).

Ah, ok. I'm using EAC in an AWS micro instance (to keep Windows out of my office in good old tradition ;) ) handling some customer's EAPs, so I will stay at the previous version for now. Maybe TP-Link releases an EAC version for Linux somewhen, then I will set up a test environment locally, too.

Hello,
I have to say, EAP controller software was 2.4.7 latest when i decided to update the nodes.
So, it is not controller version problem.
If it is.. i mean if the new firmware needs an older controller version, it is worse i guess :)

What makes you sure about this? In past versions, controller updates needed EAP updates, too. Changes in a new controller version could also change behavior of EAPs running old firmware not compatible with newer EAC version, so updating EAPs first and then the EAC would be the safest way to avoid any outages resulting from incompatibilities.
