TL-WDR4300 drops (Powerline) connection partially (TeamViewer, Torrents still work)
Model: TL-WDR4300
Hardware Version: v1
Firmware Version: 3.14.3 Build 150518 Rel.70901n
ISP: Ziggo 150/15 (NL)
Dear all,
I'm using a TL-WDR4300 on the first floor as a secondary router in the household, having its own DHCP network (192.168.3.X). It is connected via LAN cable (cat.6) to the primary router on the ground floor (192.168.78.X) which was provided by my ISP. Moreover, I use a TL-PA411KIT v2 which connects the TL-WDR4300 to my desktop pc on the second floor. My PC has a permanent address assigned to it (192.168.3.3). A very ms-painty overview can be seen here. So far, so good.
Unfortunately, my internet connection drops from time to time MOSTLY. I stress the MOSTLY part, because I can't browse (Firefox) or use Steam anymore, but other connections (uTorrent, TeamViewer connection with a notebook in the same network via WiFi) remain intact; logging into the router works as well. The Powerline adapters are still connected to each other, as seen in the new TP-Link PLC Utility ( screenshot). The wireless connection (2.4GHz & 5GHz) works fine and has full internet access.
In order to get back my (full) connection, I have to reboot the TL-WDR4300. Strangely enough, I can't see my desktop pc in the DHCP Clients List after rebooting, and I don't see any weird things going on in the router log.
First I thought the problem was in my Powerline connection (I still run the continuous ping-the-router fix that seems to help some people having Powerline connection issues) but since I can connect to the router I think the problem lies in the router itself.
Maybe the router closes most of the ports (except the UPnP ones) from time to time?
If someone could help me, that'd be great :)
Kind regards,
Alex
