Falsy info for router firmware upgrade
Model :
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
http://uk.tp-link.com/download/TL-WR842ND.html#Firmware
I made a mistake and tried to upgrade it through WIFI, it says not to. It does not say (like above row) that it could somehow damage my equipment. Router is now dead.
Live chat support acknowledge that information on website is falsy but RMA Policy guy said it's not they'r fault and no replacement for broken device. I am to support downtime and new equipment.
System setup constrains me to buy similar device (tp-link brand), or spend time learning to bridge different brand's devices. But no. I will not buy another TP-Link as service and support are not reliable.
I just felt I needed to make this public. I will not stop here.

"Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it is written clearly on website that we suggested customer to upgrade firmware from the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device. As you downloaded the firmware from Lebanon TP-LINK website not UK website, we are sorry this damage can’t be covered by our warranty service."
First of all most (if not all) pages from tp-link.com are identical, same as Firmware versions. Secondly this is not a warranty issue as it did not malfunction, I followed a tutorial that was written on TP-link website that made my hardware unusable. And why did the router let me attempt to upgrade it's firmware when it clearly knows I'm on a wireless connection?? Could this be a little scam?
Nevertheless I am now without a working router and they'r only concern is how this was not they'r fault.
Thanks TP-LINK!
May we prosper together again in the future. NOT!
