Hi All,

I have an Archer C7 V2, purchased in Canada.
This device is running the current version of firmware, as listed on the country specific support page

The problem I am experiencing is that every few days, the 2.4GHz wireless network will stop working.
The router is configured as a "access point" - Internet is not routed thru the device, but the device is handling DHCP, and directs clients to the ISP provided modem

I have seen a few similar thread on this forum, but there haven't been any real concrete suggestions on what to try next.
I have tried setting the 2.4GHz channel to a manually assigned channel (1, 6, or 11). No channel performs better than others regarding the stability of the device. The network will still stop working after 24-72 hours of uptime on average

The 5GHz network and wired connections are not affected by this.
The device's GUI works correctly.
No errors are observed in the system event log - here are the last 10 events from this morning, when the issue occured

To Resolve this issue, the device would need to be restarted. I have not been able to find any other workaround to restore access to this network.

When the issue occurs, on a computer that is 'still' connected to the 2.4GHz network, the Windows OS shows the network as "no internet connection", and I cannot ping any IP addresses on the local subnet. I cannot access anything on the internet as well
A device that was 'not' connected when the issue occurred is not able to connect. the network is visable in 'inssider' and in the Windows GUI. However when attempting to connect, the OS keeps prompting for a wireless password. Entering the correct password just results in an 'incorrect password' error.

Are there any suggestions here?

Hi,

How did you set it as an "access point"? If it's on "Access Point", then it cannot handle DHCP, as the DHCP server need to be disable when it's working as access point.

Did you try hard reset the router?

My Archer C7 works fine on the 5mhz network but my guest Network that is setup on 2.4 works fine for a couple of hours and then bogs down to less than 1mbs or stops completely. I have tried it with and without allowing clients to see each other.

Is your router working as a Router or an Access Point? What about the wired connection and 5G wireless connection when the 2.4G is not working?

Set up as router, 5G and Ethernet are both working perfectly.

I called TP Link and they suggested forcing 2.4 channel width to 20 instead of Auto. That .
has worked for the past 24 hours or so.
