Good morning everyone.Yesterday I got my TL-WR940N V5.
After booting up the first time everything went fine.W-lan, lan and Internet works great.

Later on I changed the ssid and the w-lan password.
So far so good.
I switched off the router and placed him on his workplace.
After plugging in the power the router try to boot.
And there we are. Only the power LED is slowly blinking. Nothing else.
No lan LED or Internet is lighten up.
The wireless devices got an ip. But it's not possible to connect to the Web interface of the router. Even a ping is not possible.

So I tryed a hard reset. I gently sticked a toothpick in the reset hole. You can feel if it's pressed ;)
After 8 seconds all LED's should flash. Nothing.
So I tryed pressing it up to 1 minute. Nothing.
I tryed it with the wps button and the reset button.
I tryed the 30 30 30 reset.
Nothing helped.
The on/off LED is always blinking in the same time frequenz.
I can't connect via telnet ftp etc.

I havent updated the routers software.
I don't know the software version that's preinstalled.

Are there any other steps I can do? Or is the router dead?

thx Ardragoon

Welcome to my world.
Just got my router 4 days ago and decided to set it up tonight.
Worked for the first 20 minutes during configuration etc.
Then saved all settings and rebooted..........................................
Now sitting in the same boat as you, just a flashing blue light.
Seems we pay good money just to have flashing blue lights............................................
And here I though I want to try TP-Link as it looked so nice and spiffy........
Thank the heavens above I didn't toss my D-Link.
Guess its true with what they say "Stick with what works"

P.S. Tried everything you did and wasted 4 hours of my life.
If its under warranty, take it back and demand another brand, otherwise toss it and write off to school fees............................
