Model :

Hardware Version :

Firmware Version :

ISP :

Just spent an hour or so resetting the extender to factory and then back to current setup after it stop working.
I see there is new firmware (re350v1_en-up-ver1-0-0-P1[20171214-rel50596]) but after everything with the firmware seems to go fine it still shows the original firmware (even after an 2nd power cycle) .

Model is RE350(CA) vers 1.0
P/N 0153500156
current F/W is 1.0.0 Build 20160621 Rel. 51046

IF someone would like to inform me why the firmware is a no go (luckily after the 2nd attempt it still has not bricked).
Thank you.

To answer you p0et, at that time no as the firmware was a US model only I was trying, they didn't have any newer versions on the Canada site. In North america pretty much everything is the same between Canada and USA, except for maybe the laws around data collection and the addition of the french language. As I don't see a language option on the device page I tend to think the only reason us Canadians can't install the US firmware is data collection / privacy laws.
Regardless I left the unit with it's original firmware and hoped the factory reset was enough to deal with the RE350 lockup issue going forward, so far so good till this week.

I am using the RE350 to give:
1x Windows 10 pro PC, 1x Seagate NAS and 1x brother laser printer network access via physical connections through a 4 port netgear unmanaged switch < Physical connection> RE350 < 5G wpa2-psk > Primary residential gateway one floor below.

This week I've been getting alerts that the 4 devices have been losing connection via SMTP monitoring. This morning I'm around to discover the 5G network is up and responding fine but the RE350 again is the problem. LED show it's on the wireless network but can't ping it through the static IP i had assigned it or find it on the TP- APP. Factory reset again, and a f.y.i to the tpl-link app team. It's sucks to do anything but check the status of the RE350 via that app.

Well at least there is Canadian firmware (1.0.0 Build 20171214 Rel. 50596) now which the RE350 is now running the newest available to Canada. Fingers crossed the unit is stable again and not engineered to fail after warranty runs out.
Hope this helps anyone thinking about the TP product line.
