Modifications and Bug Fixes
Bug Fixed
1. Fixed the WPA2 Security (KRACKs) Vulnerability.
2. Fixed the bug in resolving some specific domains when the router works as DNS server.
New Features/Enhancement
1. Added SMBv2 support in the USB sharing.
2. Improved router's performance on the 2.4G wireless network.
Please can TP-LINK make available firmware update for UNiversal version.

A update to the Canadian version would be nice too since there hasn't been one since 161031 for V2 which is HORRIBLE , thankfully the Beta Firmware in the Sticky Thread is working but it still doesn't support SMB-v2 which is now needed for Windows 10.

It is irritating that for other countries the latest firmware can be as old as 2015. Why can't TP-LINK produce UNiversal version like before and let users select region? Do they think users should not be allowed to choose? This is easier for them too.

I also request/demand that you release the firmware released for US Archer C7 v2 to us in EU. It is you have imposed the artificial limit on regions on us, make sure you release firmware for all regions then. No excuses!

I also request and demand that TP-Link releases the US firmware for Archer C7 v2 to the other regions. Now! No excuses! There is only an artificial limit, just release it already!

And if you purchased one of these routers before they created this artificial limit, you can't even know for sure what firmware should you upgrade to. Mine does not have any region markings on the bottom sticker or in the firmware. At all. Nor in the box. This region locking of firmwares is beyond stupid.

Well folks,
Already owning 2 C7 routers, and my eyes set on the AC3200, I finally woke up and realized that there are no FW updates (Israel),
since 2015!!!! Unbelievable.
Many parts of the world already have from 2017, and even 2018.
I was told I may use EU(V2) FW, but I got the infamous error 18005.
I should ask for refund, very disappointed that tp-link is not able to provide updated FW support for it's customers.
Shame on you tp-link for region locking and lack of support.

It's because different countries have different laws on which bands/channels you can use and how strong the Antenna can be etc....and of course they change the PCB , chips etc each version too...
Though I am not sure how different a CA model can be from a US model ?
