Big problem with RE450!
Big problem with RE450!
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I write from Italy (sorry for my english), I have Fiber access to the intenet (FTTC) by TIM operator and I am using a
modem-router provided by TIM (Sercomm). I extend my WIFI home network by RE450 Range Extender. The problem
is that many times a day and every day, RE450 stops working but all LEDs remain lit. No connection is possible, the
web page of RE450 is not responding (timeout error). The only solution is restart the range extender. Every day,
many times a day... I tried to change the RE450 with another one (using warranty), but the behaviour was the same.
So I think the problem is in the RE450 implementation. (RE450 V2 with firmware up to date).
At the moment the italian support centre was unable to help me. Is there someone that can give me some
solution/ideas?
Nobody has similar problems?
Tks

hello! (I'm an italian user too) and i'm using the 1.0.2 version. To fix your problem, about the GUI, just clean the cache of your browser. I had the same issue and cleaning the cache solved it. The biggest problem is that the Extender becomes unstable and unusable randomly. Sometimes it works fine for hours, other times it freezes after a few minutes of connection and the only way to fix it is rebooting. I payed it almost 60 euros and it's totally unacceptable. I tried to disable the DHCP, since i'm using it as range extender and the DHCP is provided by the main modem but it freezes anyway.
What happens:
In a totally random way, my devices lost the connection.
They try to get an ip address again but it doesn't happen and the device is stuck on "connecting..."
How to reproduce the issue?
It's random.
How can I fix it?
Right now, the only way is rebooint the extender
If you guys have a solution, please tell us!

Hello everyone, I'm experiecing a similar problem. Mine is about 1 year old. Initially, it had worked wonderfully. Latter, I had to reset it and reinstall it to make it work again. On the last 2 weeks, however, I have to reset it, reinstall it, and it is only working for a couple of hours. After that, I can connect to the extender, but the extender is not connected to the internet, I don't know why, although the internet is working fine, if I connect directly to the router. Is there any sollution?

@Gusgub try to set the 2,4 ghz - channel 11 and 5 ghz - channel 48
With this configuration i'm able to keep the connection "alive" for some hours.
But, anyway, it's not acceptable.
I'm a normal user, I don't want to worry about rebooting or changing the configuration 10 times per day

@Ciccilleju, Thanks for the tip. How do I change the channel? It is really annoying having to reboot a lot of times. It is not a cheap extender so I can easily trhow it away and get a new one.

I still have the same problem.
I must keep rebooting the extender all the times.
