Hi All,
I purchased a Archer C5400 V2 yesterday and right out of the box I had issues with the 1st 5GHZ wifi network. I can see the network and connect but I never get assigned an IP address on any device and I get an error saying authentication has failed. The 2.4GHZ & other 5GHZ network is fine.
I even upgraded the firmware but still had exactly the same problem. This appears to be a different issue to the one where the 5GHZ network is not available in certain countries as posted elsewhere.
Any ideas what the issue is?

I just spoke to tech support,
They told me I need to select the option to clone the mac address when initially setting the router up. This will apparently fix this particular issue
I was going to return the router but I will try this tonight when I get home.

Well I just wasted 2.5 hours !
Tried cloning the mac address and after the initial setup it kept rebooting. Tried another factory reset still keeps rebooting. What a piece of garbage. Not what I expected from a $450 (CDN $) wireless router !! Will be returning tomorrow
Think I may try the Amplifi HD system

Yes this is true! I did 2 warranty replacements within a month. My second replacement is working as it should. No problems what so ever! I tried to sell it for half price and I got no offers, I had it listed for 3 weeks and finally decided I am stuck with it. Just waiting for it to bomb! Hope it doesn't though, I really like the performance.

Well I decided to put my frustration aside and exchange the faulty unit. I previously had a C3200 and was pretty impressed with it. I just quickly setup the new router and all 3 wifi networks are working. I will update the firmware and see if anything changes. I really want this too work.
I am a little concerned about the other comments regarding the unit bumming out after short periods of time. I have 30 days from Best Buy so will be keeping a close eye on things.

TP-Link in malaysia here
warranty replacements need to wait above 1 month , very poor service

I too was stressing everyday, wondering if it's going to bomb out! Finally I'm over it. If it does I'll submit a warranty replacement, buy a Netgear and sell the replacement as new unopened merchandise. Good luck! I got my fingers crossed

I had a C3200 before this for about a year and it was rock solid. So far all 3 WiFi bands have been working and it is fast. Coverage in my home is good everywhere. The 2nd 5GHZ channel seems to be stronger so that's what I've been using for our phones, tablets etc. I was considering a mesh WiFi but this thing does perform very well.RajaDaja wrote
