Router TL-WR941HP ver2.0 - Incompatible with Multicast/Chromecast?
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version : 2.0.0 Build 20171127 Rel. 62435
ISP :
I received this router 2 days ago and I'm already having problems with it. I noticed that even with Chromecast connected to my Wi-Fi network, it's not recognized in any supported apps (youtube, hbo go, netflix). It only works if I reboot the router, but if after that I unplug the Chromecast and turn it back on, the problem appears again. This did not happen to me when I used the TL-WR941ND. Do you know what could be wrong?
*The TP-Link Brazil Support Center said that this router is incompatible with the Multicast function, so it doesn't work with Chromecast. That's true?
*I've tried support with Google, but they could not identify the problem.
(I'm sorry if I wrote something wrong in english...)

Unfortunately I have just bought a TL-WR941HP v. 2.0 and it does not work on casting to TV just like yours.
Until now I have tried the configuration changes and beta firmware listed on previous messages, and I also got in touch with TP-Link support - they say it should be enough to change MTU to 1305 and DNS to Google 8.8.8.8 address. I did that and it simply won't link my smartphone with TV.
If I set up back the previous wireless router the cast functions from smartphone does work fine. I'm seriously considering returning the TL-WR941HP to the store as I can do it until today.

Hi, did you try to install the beta firmware? For me it worked. Regarding TP-Link support, forget it, their is not the best...

@PFK Hi, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I have tried both beta firmware and changing setup options as others here told before. I first tried changing the options (MTU etc.) with standard firmware. As it didn't work I updated it to beta firmware. It did not work also, then I tried restoring the router to factory options, which didn't work either. After that I have changed the same options inside the beta firmware updated setup. None of them worked. The transmission to Chromecast or to Sony Smart TV simply won't work. As I had the option to return the router to the store, so I did. Now I just bought a TL-WR841HP and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I hope this one does not have this awful bug so I can use it as I have been using my old router fine until now. Best regards.

@destutz Hi, okay. Sorry my English, I from Brazil : ) And are you from? Could you explain your wireless setup - Router is in Router or Bridge Config? Which band channel did you configure in wi-fi options? When installed beta firmware, did you see Beta Config Page in Router? Your TV - Mobile Phone - Chrome Cast were on the same network wi-fi? If you explain your scenario, may I can help something : ) hope it works with new equipment.

Today I found out that there is a new official version, but only in English.
It doesn't work for Brazil.
Once again I am disappointed with TP-Link ...
