Model : Archer C1200

Hardware Version :

Firmware Version : 2.0.2 Build 20180118 rel.38979 (EU)

ISP :

The login page on the Archer C1200's web interface is using some fancy password box preventing browsers to save the password. This is very inconvenient when using distinct strong random generated passwords. It would have been nice to stick with standard HTML controls to allow browser credential storing. This is not an online bank, please. While developers think it will make their service more secure if they prevent users from storing the password in a browser, this typically encourages users to use one simple-to-remember and simple-to-type password for all services. Besides, custom HTML controls introduce accessibility issues for users with disabilities.

Furthermore, while using a web-form login method looks nicer, it makes it difficult or impossible to use curl or wget to perform automated administrative tasks. With DD-WRT routers using Basic HTTP authentication, I could easily set-up nightly router backups, weekly reboot, etc.

I agree but if you're thinking that you'll change the TP-Link R&D choices from this thread, you're making a big mistake...
