Question about AP mode.
Model :
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I have the Deco M5 triplet installed in my home and I'm not happy with QoS performance (suffering from bufferbloat whenever some iphone on my network decide its time to download updates, causing me to lag hard on online games).
I thought to buy a non-wifi router such as the Ubiquity EdgeRouter X (ER-X) and use that as my router, while plugging the main deco into one of its ethernet ports and configuring the deco to be AP instead.
Will AP mode still work as a mesh system? or will it act as a router+repeaters?
Currently I have: Cable Modem->Deco->{Wifi clients, 1 cat6 client)
Will this work? I wanna know before I buy the new router.
Cable Modem -> EdgeRouter X -> Deco->{Wifi clients, 1 cat6 client)
Because my household is not entirely wired, I can't connect my wired client to the edgerouter because it will be in a different floor, so It will stay connected to the deco in my floor.
