Slow network speed TP-Link AC750

Good morning,
I've acquired a TP-Link AC750. Its working correctly except for the network speed.
It's configured to access point with Ethernet cable plugged to give Wifi coverage form cable. I know obviously wifi give less speed than wired network. My question is:
If I plug directly the RJ-45 to my laptop it give me 500+ Mb/s speed. but using the TP-LINK adapter adapter it drops to 90 Mb/s. Why this huuuge speed difference?
The adapter is located more or less 1.5-2 meters from laptop. Is not a network driver issue because my smartphone is registering the same speed.
