Hello guys,

i bought a used Archer T4U AC1200 V1 some days ago and tried it on two different pcs (Win7 64bit & Win10 64bit). And despite the fact that it seems to work i used a tool called USB Tree Viewer to see, if the adapter actually connects through USB 3.0 or not, because i had a similar issue with an adapter from Netgear.

And yes, on both PCs the wifi stick always connects through USB 2.0, rather than 3.0. Not only that, the USB Tree Viewer also reports "not superspeed capable", which makes scratch my head a lot about that USB 3.0 connector.

Did anybody here encounter a similar problem with this older version of the adapter or did i simply buy a seemingly broken one?

thanks and regards,

Hello! Make sure it's plugged in to a blue USB 3 port, lol! Also, maybe try my unofficial driver.

Using TP-Link's driver, the adapter was showing up as Wireless-N and running slower than it should have been.
