@a14n

Based on 3 years of requests for this feature, and NO results, it will likely NEVER be implemented in the Deco itself.

One solution is to simply unplug the Deco in your bedroom when it's not needed (ex. at night). Another solution is more elegant:

You can buy a $10 TP-Link Kasa HS103, plug the Deco into it, and set up schedule via Kasa app. Not as nice as having the feature built-in, but works!

How dissapointing, this is probably the last tp-link product I'll purchase..

@ayeo

It's your money and your choice. I don't think TP-Link will notice, you can't please everyone.

But, there are no perfect products out there. Some will have all the features you want, but cost a lot more $$, others may be less stable / reliable.

Read reviews, do your research before buying and hopefully, you'll end up with a product you are 100% happy with!

Other TP-link products did have the intended feature, so what's the problem? Since this is taking to long I took the liberty of purchasing a timer switch and made sure my Macs don't boot until 5 minutes afterwards so they'll have an internet connection. Building in a schedule is more elegant, but this works too. I just hope my wife can appreciate it!

Well I have them for a while, 2 yrs or so, and I came across this thread back then while doing my research.
The two Tp-link official's posts marked as solution in this very thread made me believe this feature was just a matter of time. I bought them, expecting they'd have the feature soon. But they have just been lying all the time. Never will they get my money again.

Really disappointed with that. I have 3 routers from tp-link and all them have that feature. I've spent maximum of my budget and expected not less than previously. So what is the problem guys? 3 years from request and promises - just wow. I've also bought TP-Link Tapo C200 that don't have an upload feature on release (it exists in older and cheaper versions). Looks like there are some problems on software developers side. Hope that will be finally fixed soon.

@Kevin_Z

Hi,

any news on the release of a firmware update implementing scheduled wifi signal shut downs - ie during the night. I think this function should be considered as a priority. Why waste energy when not needed?

@Jeza

Not likely to happen. Maybe it's because the M5/M9 hardware has no physical switch in the circuitry to allow for this to happen. I didn't study the schematic diagram.

I think TP-link should at least sent all people that need this feature a free set of smart power plugs, ex. HS103 x 3, to compensate for the inconvenience and make up for this fiasco. 3 years of requests from many paying customers completely ignored! Wow...

I'm here looking for this exact feature.

The wife has approved the spend on a mesh - the deco 9 seems to be the best..

One condition - it has to turn off at night.

I could lie I suppose?

But for me the green aspect is important too.

tp link can you listen to people?!
