Switched yesterday from a Netgear wn111v2 to TL-WN822N ;

My AP reported (with netSurveyor on windows7 and iw command on opensuse) a signal strength of -64 db with netgear e -76 db with tp-link adapter.
All other networks are reported with a lower signal strength.
Connection with AP is stable and speed vary from 40 to 110 Mbs.

What is the distance between your TL-WN822N and your root AP ? What is the channel of your AP ? Maybe you can have a try to change the channel to 6 or 11.

I's at the same distance as before.
substitute netgear dongle with tp-link's one. The distance from AP is 4 meters but my desktop is is one flat above the Access point . The lower values are reported for ALL the SSIDs i can receive.

I use channet 2..
