Switching off or on PS4s disconnects sky and PS4 using TL-WR940N
Good morning all,
I recently moved from Sky to Virgin Cable and had to get a router that also extended the WIFI.
My setup is -
Virgin cable router in main room.
Cat cable going from the router, all the way to the garage where my TL router is.
Cable to the PS4 from the TL.
Cable from the TL to a desktop switch TP link model -SF1005D.
Sky Q, PS4 (2nd one) and Sony TV all cabled to the desktop switch.
So my problem is that even though all seem to be running fine however, if I'm playing the ps4 and my son turns off the other one, I disconnect from any online game I'm playing. Same if I switch off and he's playing.
Also if we're streaming a movie on Sky or even if we're watching a recording in the front room, the message comes up saying problem communicating with sky and we know that it's because my son has or myself have switch off the ps4 and this has effected the connection. The sky Q box is in the garage and the mini is in the front room.
So, if I've not complicated my question, can anyone see any reason why this is happening?
Before when we had sky as the provider, their were no issues, but the sky q box gave out wifi and we were linked to the hub via a netgear router only, so the change is really down to the new TP link router giving both wifi and cable to the garage.
Any thoughts from anyone?
Thanks in advance.
Frank.
