Hi everybody.

I have configured an archer 1200 C50 as access point using this method

https://www.tp-link.com/fr-be/faq-417.html

It work good, but i find that my bandwith, is very poor with this configuration. In fact i have 125Mps before the Archer, and only +/- 60Mbps after.

I lost the half of my signal.

I also have other access point, like Netgear R7800, and with this one i don't loose signal, but with this, i have an option "AP mode" in the configuration interface, and my input signal stay in the WAN plug.

What do you think about that ?

Thanks a lot

c50 shall also have an option AP mode in the configuration interface, maybe you can check the hardware version and upgrade the firmware smiley

Hi,

Thanks for your answer, i will try to upgrade the firmware, but after investigations , it appears that my AC1200 is an Archer C50 V1.0000000, and it seems there is no gigabit ethernet ports on this model, but 10/100/ Mbps ports, and i think that's why i lost a part of my bandwith.

I am now with a 125Mbps Bandwith, and i will  have soon 400Mbps .

It's maybe better to buy a newest model ?

What do you think about this ?

Thanks a lot , have a good day, and my best wishes for 2019

yes, though c50 is ac1200, but the wan port is only fast ethernet support 100M

maybe you can find a new router with gigabit ethernet support 1000M, such as archer c1200

and one more thing, before you buy the router, you can find the emulator and release note for the firmware to know the features it has

Thanks for your answer,

I think that the Archer C7 will be able to do the job......

https://www.tp-link.com/fr/products/details/cat-9_Archer-C7.html#overview

And i have tried the émulator, it's very fine to be able to see how to configure the routeur

Thanks a lot   wink
