Hi,
when the C5400 losing connection, how about the lights on it? Is the internet light still on?
Whether your firmware is the latest one, you can try to upgrade if the firmware is not the latest one.
How many devices connected to the router to go to internet at the same time?
Whether only wifi unstable or wired and wifi unstable?

I've seen this happening but only with the app. Never when trying to access the router's setting through a browser.
Chances are your router isn't really offline, but the cloud access is interrupted (which in general doesn't affect functionality in the slightest).
If this problem isn't happening anymore, you can assume this could have been a server issue on TP Link's side.
If it's still happening then I would try using the app on a different device and see if the issue persists.
Are you still experiencing this or has it gone away?
