Same for me, its the same problem, searching forever. And never find anything other than the bridge
The German TP-Link support provided me a beta firmware 1.2.4 Build 20190124 Rel. 62471. I had to manually update the Deco M9 units. This firmware solves the problem. Maybe you have to email the TP-Link support.

Is the Philips Hue Bridge a mesh device? Do you want to use it to build a mesh network with the Deco M9plus?

No the Philips Hue Bridge controlls the Philips Hue light bulbs and is a Zigbee Bridge. The Deco M9 Plus supports the integration of Philips Hue to generate home automations.

I have different bulbs in use (in total 27). Yes the bridge and bulbs are working fine via the Philips Hue app and via HomeKit.

I've just started a similar thread. I don't understand why we need to use the Hue bridge at all, since the Deco M9 Plus has a Zigbee hub built in (apart from maybe updating firmware etc)?

TP-link has note on their website: https://www.tp-link.com/en/Deco-M9-Plus/compatibility/
Deco M9 Plus is compatible with a whole range of IoT devices, from smart bulbs and plugs to sensors and thermostats. The products below can be controlled via the Deco app with no additional hub required*, and triggered using the Automation and Shortcut features. Note: Philips Hue bulbs need their own bridge..

Any news on this? I'm still not able to controll my bulbs via the Deco App... Very disappointing.

Hey, do you guys read this instruction. https://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-1778.html
It may help, while the hue bridge is needed. And the Hue light uses their own private protocol, that may be the root cause why you need hue bridge to do that.

Just to chip in here. I don't think it is a private protocol. I can control Hue lights with an Amazon Echo Plus without the Hue bridge....
