Hi,

I have bought a WN881ND PCI-e wifi adapter. I want to make a hotspot and for this, the wifi adapter needs to support the Hosted network option. The supported models from any manufacturer when you type netsh wlan show drivers” in the command prompt must show Hosted network supported  : Yes in the enumeration results. I have tested a cheap wifi USB dongle and TP-Link’s WN881ND PCI-e and both show not supported. Do you confirm for WN881ND PCI-e model in the windows 10 same results as mine? If your card netsh shows “Hosted network supported : Yes” then my windows has a problem. Unfortunately, the TP-Link’s manual doesn’t cover this information. If this PCI adapter doesn’t work for me then I want to try TP-Link Archer T9E AC1900 Wireless Dual-Band PCI Express Adapter. Do you confirm for this model Archer T9E AC1900 Hosted network supported : Yes? I have enclosed my card test result here.

Work arounds up to now for this problem:

I have enabled Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power in device manager for the adapter (this is suggested by some people on the internet).

netsh wlan show drivers

Hello, it does not support hosted network on Windows 10 computer;

While if you want to use hotspot, you can use the mobile hotspot installed by the windows 10 system automatically.

May it help.
