TP Link Archer C3200 dropping internet connection (DNS problem)
TP Link Archer C3200 dropping internet connection (DNS problem)
Lately, my internet connection has been dropping internet connection at random intervals (could be 30 min to 4 hours between drops) and when I check the router when the connection is lost, it always asks to configure DNS manually. I've tried switching to the google DNS and openDNS and the problem still persists.
After a while (~5-10 minutes) the connection comes back and the configure DNS manually message is gone
Prior to last week the internet connection had been solid with no problems for a span of about 6 months
Note:
I have a DSL connection
any help would be appreciated, thanks

@TofuBlock SWITCHED router and new one (NOT TP-LINK) has no issues...TP-LINK ISSUE confirmed :( for the price I paid, I won't be coming to TP-LINK in the future.

Same for me...
Sometimes it recovers by itself, sometimes a reboot from the admin web page is needed...
This began around 4 months ago.
Last firmware update was applied more than a year ago.
The router was purchased in February 2019...
Hope it's not dying after only a 1 1/2 year...

@fgladu I gave up, will never by tp link again. It would drop multiple times daily... So many meetings, games, shows to reboot I just had enough. Stupid company won't support their product for a regular lifetime... Nevermore

@Matluck this has been going on with me for a while now. I thought it was bad internet quality. I tried speed tests directly connected and they were fine. This router is not good and the firmware doesnt solve the issue.
Apparently it can't handle more than. 8 devices regardless of their usage. I bought an Asus router with mu-mimo tech and I'm done with tp-link.
I loved the c7 Soni bought a his ac3200 and it made me hate tp-link.

Hey guys,
I reflashed the firmware to the same version it was (Archer C3200(US)_V1_170707) and I only had one interner drop since...
Is this really the las firmware for this router?
We have 35 hosts connected to the router.
Hope this helps!

Same problem here : Archer C2300 v1.0, firmware 2.0.3 Build 20180611 Rel. 77668. It looks like TP has not update this firmware in over 2 years.
That's one way to loose customers.
