The new firmware used for TL-WR1043ND V1 only, it is strictly prohibited to upgrade if not this model , any incorrect upgrade will damage your device.
If the firmware version of your TL-WR1043ND is earlier than "110429", please use "110429" version firmware to upgrade it firstly, then upgrade the router with this beta firmware.

3.13.12 Build 121210 Rel.73912n (Beta)
[Release Note]
1. Fixed a bug that router would hang up with high-bandwidth.
2. Fixed a bug the WEB management page sometimes would be no response.
[Background]
With some Taiwan\Russia\Hongkong high-bandwidth ISP, the TL-WR1043ND sometimes will hang up and no response.
[Current State]
The new beta firmware worked normally in our high-bandwidth LAB, now we are waiting for the further test results from our customers.

tp-link administrators promised to me that in the next official firmware 904 release all this issues will solved, i will give them the last chance before i replaced my router to another brand.

some people that bought this router dont have this issues with the same firmware....

Try installing the gargoyle 1.5.9 and then tell me.
In my case wr1043nd v 1.8 hung every day lately, I think by DOS attacks
With gargoyle, 20 days without problems.
More than hardware problems, I think it's a hardware incompatibility with the firmware.

I have WDR4300 and WR1043ND and everywhere is Gargoyle too. I'm very happy with stability and functionality this firmware. If you like you can configure planned reset every day, every week or every month in specyfic hours. Very good experience i have with QoS configuration in this router. I can slow down data stream for computer (IP or name), applications, network ports, packet size. I can setting DDNS for many free servers and make connection by the VPN - client or server configuration.

jorgecorazondeleon tell me how to install this third party firmware without brick my unit totally, i'm afraid to do that.
after i change the wireless encryption settings and channel width to 20Mhz the router seems more stable functioning, but i will wait a few weeks to see
if it is stable for a long time.

0.-Install germany firmware wr1043nv1_de_3_9_17_up_boot(100331) (to avoid problem wan)

I instead installed 1.5.9 gargoyle firmware and have been up for a week (since)... the most uptime I had for 2 weeks previously was 18 hours.
