The new firmware used for TL-WR1043ND V1 only, it is strictly prohibited to upgrade if not this model , any incorrect upgrade will damage your device.
If the firmware version of your TL-WR1043ND is earlier than "110429", please use "110429" version firmware to upgrade it firstly, then upgrade the router with this beta firmware.

3.13.12 Build 121210 Rel.73912n (Beta)
[Release Note]
1. Fixed a bug that router would hang up with high-bandwidth.
2. Fixed a bug the WEB management page sometimes would be no response.
[Background]
With some Taiwan\Russia\Hongkong high-bandwidth ISP, the TL-WR1043ND sometimes will hang up and no response.
[Current State]
The new beta firmware worked normally in our high-bandwidth LAB, now we are waiting for the further test results from our customers.

I installed Gargoyle 1.5.9, it's running nicely except for wifi that can't do 300mpbs (maxes out at 150 and bad speed) and LAN is connecting at 100mbps instead of gigabit with the stock firmware. The speeds are pretty bad unfortunately. This affects all *-WRT firmwares (Gargoyle is based on Open-WRT), I had the same issue with DD-WRT.

To run at 300 MB / s, set it to 40 Mhz / s

after changing the settings according to tp-link (wireless encryption to TKIP instead of AES, and channel width to 20Mhz instead of 40Mhz) , my unit is 14 days uptime and now i can't access to the web interface, the SYS led is permanent on and not blinking anymore, i'm waiting a lot of time to the solution from tp-link.

Hello,
I tried to install the Gargoyle 1.5.9 and it ran for 5 days. Today already stopped working twice.
I have WR1043ND v1.8.
I also called support, and they told me to return the router on warranty...
Is there any settings that you are using to make the system stable?

i installed dd-wrt firmware, wait to see if there any issues with this third party software.
i don't success to configure FTP Server on the dd-wrt, it asks for credentials and no matter what i entered, he doesn't accept it.
i don't know if this forum is the right place to ask support for third party firmwares, but it's very important to me to repair this issue.

now i run 15 days continuous with the third party DD-WRT firmware, and my unit works great. no issues meanwhile, this is the proof that all problems i experienced with this module is SOFTWARE issues and NOT HARDWARE as TP-LINK says to me.

dd-wrt is great and stable firmware but wifi speed very bad

Gargoyle is better than dd-wrt (for me).
It is based on open-wrt.
In wireless works faster than dd-wt.
TP-Link should inform, if you plan to upgrade the firmware or not
