To those that updated via the DECO App to 1.3.0 before it was taken out, 

 

there is a NEWER 1.3.0 which is Build 20190529 36613 which i received via email from TP Link Support (credit to TP link, they ARE listening to our complaints)

the 70702 still had lots of problems, though it didnt drop connects as often as 1.2.8

1) Bad Throughput - can only get 20mb next to a deco? WIRED/Wireless backhaul

2) Authentication failures

3) Poor handoffs

 

 

Is anyone else on 36613 ? 

at least my deco test speed hit back 900+mb (70702 only had me 700 down, 100 up) 

inital testing - the handoffs are faster and throughput at slave nodes are back to normal (getting 400+ on iphone XR and Note 9) 

yet to see about the authentication failures 

 

 

EDIT : 3 DAYS OF USING THIS FIRMWARE AND ITS THE CLOSEST TO PERFECTION. THANK YOU TPLINK

How did you upgrade your Deco to this version? WEB GUI?

That zip file contains the upgrade program

 

basically just run the program, enter in your tplink login and the ip addresses of your slave deco first and upgrade. Main unit is the last.

 

get the ip via arp -i  and reference ur mac address.

 

best to check in with the support email to ensure its fit for your version.

 

so far this latest firmware has been great - no webGUI though

Oh ok! Could you help me with the process? It's asking for username, password, server and firmware. What should I put in the server and firmware fields? User and password are the Wi-Fi user and password? Sorry, I'm new and I'm experiencing difficulties with 70702 version.

@DY-deco no webGUI on main Deco IP in this release?

Thx for uploading the beta! For me 1.3.0 was disconnecting nodes all the time, now installed this build. (to find out ip address of your nodes you can also check the app, much easier). So far so good, will report back how stable it is, speed is OK!

Just wonder how to return to stock firmware after flashing this beta version, would like to give it a try, any feedback from anyone who's using this beta?

I believe you can download the official stock firmware off the Support page, flashed via the same program on the document I'm still on this Beta and can not find any reason to use any of the previous firmwares. everything works well so far.
