Nevermind, I was mixed up with the firmware version and I have already updated 1.4.4 which has had no effect. It appears as though my Arris router will not allow me to disable IPv6 but I will disable it on one of my PCs see if that makes any difference. I'm not sure why IPv6 would even cause an issue in the first place, though.

Ok wow. I disabled IPv6 on my desktop WiFi adapter and I am now seeing 99% reliable latency. What is the deal here? I will need to see if I can bridge my Arris modem and use the m5 in router mode.

@Daveomania

With deco you can disable IPv6 in the app. The ISP device can have IPv6 as the latency occurs on your deco.

Ik disabled it but yet have to test.

I will swap my deco back to router mode and see if I can disable IPv6.

This would be awesome if it fixes the issue.

I'll also try to disable it on the E4 and I'll post the results

Disabling IPv6 on my machine fixes the latency issue, but disabling IPv6 on the decos using the app doesn't change anything. The constant high latency every 10s still occurs, sadly.

I think either IPv6 needs to be disabled on all devices, OR on the parent router/modem because it seems the Decos have trouble communicating when IPv6 is enabled on any device. I don't think disabling it on all my devices in the home will be possible since I don't think I can disable IPv6 on mobile devices or TVs without rooting them. I may have to start a new thread with TP-Link with this new informatio and see if they can find the cause.

In AP mode with IPv6 disabled on my PC, I am seeing no latency spikes at all. In router mode, with IPv6 disabled on both my PC and the Decos it still spikes every 10s over 3000ms. So no change there. It seems that in router mode with IPv6 enabled or disabled and enabled or disabled on my PC that the spikes still occur. The only way I can get this to stabilize is by having IPv6 disabled on my PC and the Decos in AP mode.

@Daveomania I just went onto the app on my phone and searched for an update and it found it automatically. Sorry - I don't have a url to download it.
