@Rob035 I sent the unit back yesterday for a refund in my view they don't work and have very little configuration available in the app only interface to fix anything. I put my issue on here for assistance and go not support for TP-LINK

I've switched to ASUS RT-AX92U as a pair working great so far with lots of config and capability and they also work for Sony Bravia TVs on WiFi as a mesh where the TP-LINK does not work and you have to wire in any Sony TV to Ethernet

I managed to update my FW... Its a bit technical but download the FW and updater tool from : https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202003/20200324/M9v2_1.4.0.zip Original mention of this over here: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/198442?page=2

I have the same issue DECO M9 is continuously connection at random for devices. Some devices seems to have a more stable connection than others.

I've updated the FW to v2, but no solution.

My set-up is ISP modem (bridged) --> Ubiquity router --eth--> Main Deco M9 --> wifi --> 2nd/3rd Deco M9

My deco is setup as AP as I found the router functionality not sufficient.

I regret ever buying these units as it is not providing the stability and the support from TP-Link is a shame

@Clemens somebody posted that disabling 5GHZ seemed to resolve intermittent dropouts, can you test this and see if its better?

@Kalle_A

I am also having this same problem. I can't stay in the wifi app long enough to do any kind of trouble shooting. My wired connection (deco -> hub -> pc) is perfect.

I am noticing that main deco (deco unit that is connected directly to Modem) has an unstable wifi signal.  Every time my phone or laptop is connected to Main Deco wirelessly, it constantly disconnects.  Slave Decos I have not noticed this issue.   @TPLink Support do something?  YOur Live support Chat does not work either.   @TP-Link_Deco , @Kevin_Z can you do something to help the customers.

@MikeDecoM9

Hi everyone. I've discovered a TEMPORARY solution to my specific problem.

Step 1: ENABLE 5ghz signal on primary wifi network using the app

Step 2. DISABLE 2.4ghz signal

Step 3. ENABLE GUEST WIFI NETWORK

Step 4. ENABLE 5ghz signal on GUEST WIFI network

Step 5. DISABLE 2.4ghz signal on GUEST WIFI network.

I have no idea why, but the 5ghz signal is working fine on the wifi. However, when forcing devices to choose 2.4 ghz on the guest network, that is also OK.

This has worked for me. Good luck to everyone.

@allrelative

So by disabling 2.4Ghz on WIFI and Guest WIFI you still are able to force clients to 2.4Ghz. This doesn't make sense....

Glad it (temporary) solved your issue, but TPL needs to solve the issue for good....
