DECO M9 plus v2 cant update to latest firmware
Hi,
I have the DECO M9 plus v2 3 pack. the current firmware installed is 1.2.10 build 20190809.
On the website of TP-link the latest firmware is. Deco M9 Plus(EU)_V2_200117
Via the DECO app it say latest firmware is installed.
I wanted to install it via the GUI, but there is no GUI availeble or its disabled.
How to proceed to install the latest firmware?
Thanks,
Marcel

Hi
I have 3pack Deco M9 Plus V2 US version but I can't get update from iPhone app.
My actual version is 1.2.12 Build 20191014 Rel. 42025
Please a need the upgrade_GDPR.exe executable to upgrade manually.
I found a lot of links in this forum but all of them are unavailable. Can someone send it to me?
Regards
Bernardo

I just bought a 3pk Deco M9 Plus from Costco.
I found the out of box experience with the 2019 1.12 firmware unstable.
My setup is AP mode connected to my ASUS RT-68U, fast roaming disabled, and single line (not star) wireless backhaul topology.
Clients were disconnecting very easily with the firmware out of the box.
Checking for new firmware in the app showed that I was running the latest updates.
Found this thread here and this one too: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/179488
Putting a couple things together I downloaded (for Windows):
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202006/20200608/M9Plus_2.0_upgrade_tool_v1.1.0_win32.zip
(the tool was available from the standard support page: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/deco-m9-plus/#Utility)
However, getting the firmware required the link posted above (v 1.4). The upgrade utility tool above makes it really easy to upgrade the units compared to the GDPR tool mentioned earlier. In one shot it updated all 3 and I only had to enter my tplink id and password (no IP's etc to find and enter).
Afterwards I reset each node, double checked they were on the latest firmware, and reset again. Then added them one by one in my original AP mode configuration with the ASUS RT-68U. So far so good - will come complain here if this new stability doesn't last.

@linkadink do we have to update each deco unit or just the "master"?

How did it update all three in one shot and by reset did you just remove power and plug back in? I would love to do what you did but it would appreciate some further clarification Thanks

@THEPRFCTEN the utility does everything automatically. I have 3 M9 v2. All three were updated at once. And the restart happens automatically at the end of the process.
