This leads to a total uselessness of this USB. how can I solve this problem ?
For your case, please turn off the firewall or antivirus on the computer first, then check if the adapter shows up under the Device manager-> Network adapter/Other devices.
It could be shown as " TPLINK USB XX " or " 802.11n/ac" or its chipset like " RTLXX/Atheros XX" etc.
If the computer still can't detect the adapter, plug the adapter to another USB port, or try another computer.
