Hi All,

I am trying to connect a gateway modem (Huawei - HG8247H) with a router ( Tp-Link – Archer C7) on Tp-Link`s router mode (It’s still connected on Access Point mode) . Whenever I try to change my subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 from 255.255.255.0, the router restricts me by error that both WAN IP and Local IP cannot be on the same subnet mask. I have tried connecting it through LAN port rather than WAN but it did not detect internet connectivity.

I prefer to connect it on router mode and on the same octet as the FTTH modem so as the features can be utilized and equipment connected to the modem can be accessed through router.

Please also guide setup for a cloud/ off location connection to router
