@robi217 is your router the EU version? Did you just use the firmware 'as is' downloaded from the TP-link website?

@spies

Yes, I have EU version. I downloaded the firmware from the official TP-link website. The 1.2.1 is the one with the name "Archer C6(EU)_V2_200110", with release date of 2020-01-23. But I could not flash it directly (from 1.3.0), if you simply try using the web interface, it will just say invalid type. TFTP also won't work directly, even though it will flash, it will just stay at 1.3.0 like nothing happened. The only way (for now) is to flash OpenWRT via TFTP method, and when you have OpenWRT running, you can TFTP flash 1.2.1 again.

Please note, it may void your warranty, as you have to flash OpenWRT first, which is a non-official system (even though the TP-Link firmware itself is based on OpenWRT, just check the .bin file with Notepad++ or 7-zip).

Thanks,  I am aware of all that. I just wish to have next three things: stable 2g and 5g, ability to turn off Onemesh (no hidden SSID during normal WiFi opration), and time schedule that close WiFi emits completely. Now in FW 1.30, it still emits hidden ssid even though I turn off the WIFI.

@robi217 This hasnt worked for me, I'm on openwrt, but am now unable to return to stock, either via the TFTP method of flashing through the openwrt WEBUI, TFTP method ignores the file and if I force it though the WEBUI of openwrt, it won't boot, powerlight remains on and nothing ever happens.

Flashing back the stock image won't work through OpenWRT web interface, I'm pretty sure in that. Did you rename the file of the original firmware to ArcherC6v2_tp_recovery.bin? If you did, then turn off the router with the power button, and after that, keep the reset button pressed (i used a small screwdriver), and while holding the reset button, turn on the router. It should start flashing the file after a few seconds, and it has to go all the way to 100%. You can release the reset button as soon as it starts flashing. If the process went 100%, the router will restart itself and load the new firmware. That's how it worked for me.

@robi217 I've done it in the exact way I got openwrt on there but it just ignores, the file, really odd.

What do you exactly mean by "ignoring"? Is it the TFTP flashing that does not start? Or is it that the TFTP flashing gets finished, but after that, the router just simply reboots with OpenWRT like nothing happened?

It sends the file, logs from tftp server looks identical to when openwrt is flashes, but yes, it just reboots like nothing has happened, the powerlight starts to fast blink like its flashing but then returns to normal and just boots up. I have't tried flashing 1.3.0 back yet.

Well I don't really know why it does not work, I had the same when I tried TFTP flashing from 1.3.0 to 1.2.1 directly, but when I used OpenWRT to get back to 1.2.1, it worked in one try without any problem. You may try flashing back to 1.3.0 from OpenWRT, and if it works, at least you will still have the stock firmware.

Can't go back to either 1.3.0 or the 1.3.1 beta I was running before. Really confusing.
