Newly purchased WPS510U boots and displays green and red lights when connected to power. It's wifi signal is also visible.

But as soon as the USB cable it attached the power is lost.

And the wifi sgnal disappears.

This happens whether or not it is connected to a printer.

I have verified this on two different printers (and when not connected to a printer, which is the only time a wifi signal is given off).

Wailting many minutes - half hour - does not make any difference.

I have tried accessing the print server directly using Wifi (via WR940N) and this produces no response - cannot connect.

Even tried resetting the router to 192.168.0.xx; it does not make any difference - with 192.168.0.10 in or our of the DHCP range.

Is this a defective unit (probably cable is shorting) or is this normal but I am doing something wrong?
