Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have an internal Fortigate Firewall routing network traffic. I added the Deco M5 mesh network AP's. They work great for internet but I need to RDP from my PC 192.168.2.0 to my laptop 192.168.68.0

The M5 network is running in "Router" mode

Internet gateway 192.168.2.1

Wired LAN network  = 192.168.2.0

Deco Wireless gateway 192.168.68.1

Wireless LAN network = 192.168.68.0

I need to RDP from 192.168.2.30 to 192.168.68.106

I have 3 M5 units running as a mesh network (One SSD) 2 are fully wireless and 1 is connected directly to the fortigate firewall

@Lander7

Hi, is there a reason why you are using two different subnets? Is your firewall blocking access between subnets?

@Lander7  The Deco mesh network automatically created the new subnet. I don't see a way to route traffic from that subnet to my wired subnet. When I was using a forti AP it automatically did this between the two subnets.

If you're using it in router mode, then it won't act like an AP. You'll need to run it in AP mode or if you need it in Router mode, likely let the Deco run the network, wired and wireless, in terms of DHCP, DNS, etc.

Just thought of something else; Try changing the subnet mask in the LAN IP area under Advanced to 255.255.0.0

@richpriest

Changing the subnet is a great idea

Does the mesh network exist in both AP and Router mode?

It seemed to me that changing the mode broke the mesh and turned them all into separate access points.
