Hi 

 

I live in Spain. I have been having problems with my Dell computer linking with my router ever since I bought the router (TL-WR841N). It connects fine but crashes after 5-10 minutes. It throws all my other devices off too and I have to reboot my router. I have found a whole bunch of posts about "beta patches" for this problem but none of the posts mention my particular router. Can anyone let me know how to get hold of the correct "patch" and how to install it? This is my login screen with the version of hardware and firmware.

 

I would be really grateful for some help.

@Jobie Which OS are you using and which model of Dell laptop is that. I am having the same problem using Ubuntu 18.04 on my Dell laptop with the same router model. But the Dell laptop caused no issue for me using Ubuntu 16.04 with the same router. I haven't applied the beta patch though because the beta patch is for the EU version.

@neocet I am using Windows 10 on my laptop. It's a Latitude 3580. Do you know how to apply for the patch?

@Jobie No. I have posted my query in the community 3 days ago and nobody has responded. I am also having a Dell latitude 3480.

@Jobie I fixed my issue by updating the firmware on my laptop. Just check whether your laptop uses QCA6174 wifi chipset. This chipset was causing enough issues at least on Linux side.
