Model: AC500
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.2.4 Build 20190403 rel.63869(4555)

I have Seagate backup plus hub 6TB (stel6000200), Model: SRD0PV1 with own power supply.
My computer recognize the hard disc on USB 3.0 but my router C9/AC1900 does not. It recognize it only on USB 2.0 Port. The File Format of the external hardrive is NTFS and the capacity is 6TB, it does not have any encryptions. The current Hardware version of the router is: ArcherC9 v5.0, and Firmware version: 1.2.4 Build 20190403 rel.63869(4555).

@simplyme247 you are awesome! Thanks it solved it. I think the key for the tent was to 'NOT assign drive letter' and have second small parition with normal assigned drive letter. I was able to separate my 6GB to 5,3TB NTFS with NOT assigned drived letter and second parition with 30GB NTFS normal drive with assigned letter. Also kept your advice to not assign sophisticated drive name altough I think this is not the main issue here.
Again thanks again I can now fully enjoy my setup with NAS on 3.0 USB.

Just tried another external hard drive 500GB TOSHIBA STOR.E ALU 2S, without own power supply and again the same issue. USB 3.0 ports does not detect anything, while USB 2.0 port detects the hard drive. Tested wheter Flash drive with USB 2.0 will be detected on the 3.0 Port of the router and it worked. Tried all mentioned external drivers on ASUS router RT-N65U and all are detected there.

Tried also to reformat the external drive from NTFS to exFAT (Capacity 5,45TB) -> No Success
Divided the partitions of the drive to two 2,7TB and 2,8TB exFAT both formatted -> again NOT RECOGNIZED on USB 3.0
Reformatted again back to NTFS the two partitions of the external drive -> AGAIN NOT RECOGNIZED !!!

Why there is still not response from the support ? This obviously is a common issue since it is listed in a lot of your threads. Would you do something about it or just want us to never buy TP-LINK again ?
