Hi,
i got an wr1042nd and installed the newst firmware. I started the FTP-Server and tried to connect to the internet ip (192.168.0.xxx, internet-option is on) but i get no connection. i tried with browser, explorer and winscp. ping with cmd is possible.
any ideas? i already reset the router

I was right. Yours WAN isn't has public IP. You have to configure virtual server (port forwarding) on first router.

You have to configure WAN as static IP 192.168.0.112 in TP-link.
This configuration (port forwarding) is ok but you have to make reboot yours main router. If you like give me your public IP for PW, I will check ftp access.

now i restarted my main (modem) router.
so i have to select a static ip in this screen?
i think than the tp link cant connect to the internet any more or?
i will send you my public ip by pm

mhhh! i dont understand... :confused:
now i used filezilla... my public ip i sent u as server and user and pw and port 21. it is still not working for me. What do i wrong?
Edit: mhh i tried with my mobile phone and it is working but why not with my pc in the same network?

Some routers have a problem with back conection, inside you can use local IP.

Hi,
I have the same issue. I have main modem from UPC and connected WR1042ND to it. I can access my FTP from loacal but can't from internet. I have no acces to configure the UPC modem.. How i can resolve this? :(
