Model: Archer T3U
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Bought brand new, installed drivers from the supplied disk, had issues immediately so found and upgraded from the TP Link site. Network frequently drops momentarily if you do a ping you can see it chokes every 4th or 5th ping either timing out completely or responding with like 3000ms response time. Windows is up to date and works perfectly fine with ethernet, just I need to move this PC into another room where there isnt any ethernet.

I have an Archer A7 router/AP with 2 RE300 mesh extenders which have 3 bars of signal, all other devives seem to work pretty well on this network.

I always seem to have issues with USB wireless adapters, frustrating!

Can I tweak some settings somewhere?

@Havris Thanks for the suggestion. Actually just might have fixed it just now. I had not thought about 2.4Ghz/5Ghz before so I checked and realised I was using 2.4. Once I switched to 802.11ac only it seems to be working. I am also using the beta driver however. I'll leave it in place like this to test properly.

Thanks.

@Col777

Screen shot of a laptop with built in Wireless, as you can see, no drops, no slow downs. This adapter can be used for gaming and voice without issue.

Here is the same ping but using the TP Link T3U Plus, this is not possible to use for gaming or voice -

Here are the driver details -

I will test the driver link you have shared, thank you.

I've tried the updated driver and the results were worse. The connection dropping completely, repeatedtly. I have been able to get a Powerline adapter working on certain sockets so my son has now moved into that room and is working well.

I am highly dissappointed with this adapter, it has started to put me off the TP Link brand. I will be seeking to send it back for a refund if there is not a driver that works, £30 for this garbage.

Hello.

Today i try to connect again the wifi, but now i give it to USB 2.0 and install normal driver which i download from TPlink website and what? The wifi work normally, so i try to give it to USB 3.0 and again high ping and the same problems like before. I try again to 2.0 and it work well. Before i try it too to  the USB 2.0 but it not work well like now (maybe windows update fix it? ). So @Col777 try to give the WIFI to USB 2.0.

Thanks for helping me @Kathy_Z.

@Kathy_Z

I too have same issue. Not able to use for inline classes or meetings.  10 seconds it will work and another 3  seconds no data transfer happens. And then it works for 10 seconds. And meeting screen freezes for 3 seconds every 10 seconds.

I have bought tplink tu3 WiFi adapter. And I have archer A6 ac1200 router.

Pls let me know the solution. I bought this mainly for online class for my kid unfortunately not able to use it.

Checked other built-in adapter in laptop it's not an issue. Issue is with this t3u adapter. Kindly share if u have any drivers with fix.

Thank you

So I ran into further issues with the beta driver, it would the connection completely about once a day. This would require a restart or a run of the troubleshooting wizard to recover.

I am done trying to get this working, it is being sent back to Amazon today.

Thanks a lot to all the support folks trying to help, appreciate it. However, please advise your hardware folks to stop making garbage NICs/Drivers.
