Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.5 V1 20200709

The 1.2.5 V1 20200709 Deco X60 firmware seems to have a lot of issues maintaining a stable link with my devices to itself.  I don't see the lights on the routers changing indicating they are rebooting.  It's only a few seconds of drop out, but enought for VPN and Video conferencing to notice.   I have no Surface laptops on my network.

For a test, I had two of my three X60's in the network.  They are about 10 feet away plus about 12 feet vertically from basement to main floor.

I ran the VPN overnight so there would be very little network activity from all my devices.  Below is a snip of the extracted log from my VPN software.  Every 2 to 4 minutes the connection isn't stable so the VPN needs to re-connect.  If I'm wired to my modem I don't see a dropout.

Time         Uptime
2:33:07 AM Reconnecting   0:03:11
2:36:18 AM Reconnecting   0:02:50
2:39:08 AM Reconnecting   0:03:02
2:42:10 AM Reconnecting   0:04:01
2:46:11 AM Reconnecting   0:04:03
2:50:14 AM Reconnecting   0:03:59
2:54:13 AM Reconnecting   0:03:03

We don't notice this with general internet browsing or streaming with the Roku because the streaming buffers a lot.  When we do a Zoom, Teams or and Video conferencing there is a noticeable hang every few minutes.

I downgraded the firmware to 1.2.4 Build 20200527 Rel. 42769 and my VPN has been stable for about 2 hours.

Unfortunetly, I didn't look through and save the Deco logs before I downgraded.  I might re-upgrade and check out the logs when I have some free time.

Suddenly lost connection on the evening of 15 August.  After that, the light is usually solid red

I spoke to soon... 1.2.4 is being silly too... but it's 5 to 10 min now.  I guess I'll try to turn off other devices and see if it's any of them causeing problems.

I think it was a rouge client that the x60 didn't handle properly.

In the logs I kept seeing somelthing a lot of back to back messages like:

"Client 80:7D:3A-:**:**:** associated" and

"Client 80:7D:3A-:**:**:** disassociated" .

There was a LOT of those messages, follow by some "wanv6 is no down" messages

I started hunting through the house to find the devices that was doing this.  I finaly remembered that I had some WiFi outlets that I use to control some lamps (instead of my usual zigbee devices).  Also - one of the lamps hadn't be responsive even before my Deco X60 upgrade.  After power cycling that device things seemed to have stabalised (for now).

It odd.. the logs still have a fare amount of these, but the VPN seemed to have stayed up through it:

Sun Aug 16 10:03:28 2020 daemon.notice netifd: Interface 'wanv6' is now down
Sun Aug 16 10:03:28 2020 daemon.notice netifd: Interface 'wanv6' is setting up now
